Julie trained vocationally at The Dance School of Scotland and the Royal Ballet School where she graduated from the 3-year Teacher Training Course, gaining her Diploma in Classical Ballet Teaching, Character Dance, Cecchetti Teaching Associate, National Folk Dance Associate and Benesh Notation.
She has taught internationally & Australia wide for 30 years.
Julie is a Tutor for the Royal Academy of Dance having been trained by the Creative Panel
in the new syllabus for Continuing Professional Development courses.
As Faculty of Education Tutor, she has lectured on many modules of their teacher training programs including Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies, Diploma in Dance and the RAD Access Route, exclusive in Australia to QUT full-time Dance students.
She is a Practical Teaching Supervisor for CBTS, the Diploma in Dance Teaching and the Professional Dancers Postgraduate Teaching Certificate.
She is regularly invited as Faculty to national and international summer schools, pre-examination intensives, comprehensive syllabus courses, awards days and masterclasses.
Julie has worked with a range of students, teachers and trainees in vastly diverse dance environments across the world.
She lives in Melbourne with her husband and two sons.
